TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Insurance Policy - All Waves Car Rental vehicle rentals include a free Collision Damage
Waiver (CDW) which includes a €1000 excess in case of damages to the vehicle. In case of
damages, customer is liable for the first €1000 of damages. Any cost of damages beyond the
first €1000 will be covered by Waves Car Rental. Purchase of Extended Collision Damage
Waiver (CDW1) is available and reduces the excess to €250. Full Coverage insurance is also
available for purchase and includes a €0 excess. None of the insurance policies cover tires,
mirrors, the inside or under part of the car. Client is responsible for all damages to the car if
driven on non-paved road.
2. Legal Requirements - All registered drivers must be at least 23 years of age and must hold a
valid driver’s license issued at least one year prior to rental date. All valid EU Drivers Licenses
are accepted. Valid Driver’s Licenses outside of the EU are required to be accompanied by a
valid International Driver's permit. Only the driver who is named on the rental contract with valid
drivers license is permitted to operate any of Waves Car Rental vehicles.
3. Payment - The balance due can be paid locally at the rental office upon arrival/pickup of the
vehicle. Payment can be made via Visa or MasterCard Credit Cards, Debit, or Cash.
4. Refund Policy - No partial refunds will be issued for any unused portions of the rental
period.
5. Delivery and Returns - Free delivery to the location you specify (port, hotel, airport). Rentals
will be held for up to 2 hours after the agreed collection time. Customers must contact Waves
Car Rental if you will arrive after this time. Vehicles must be returned at the specified time and
location agreed upon in the rental agreement. Vehicles returned later than the time agreed upon
during booking will be charged for an additional day unless alternative arrangements are agreed
to by contacting Waves Car Rental directly.
6. 24/7 Roadside Assistance - Services are available 24 hours a day. In the event of a
accident customer must contact Waves immediately at +30 698 733 1445. Roadside service is
not valid if car is taken on unpaved roads.
7. Fuel policy – Full to full tank. Cars returned less than full will accrue a surcharge for the
current cost of fuel plus a €30 refueling fee.
8. Transport of Vehicle - Rental vehicles are prohibited from leaving Karpathos Island at any
time.
9. No Smoking/No Pets Policy - Customers are prohibited from smoking in any Waves Car
Rental vehicle nor having any pets within the vehicle at any time. Any evidence of smoking or
evidence of a pet in the vehicle will result in an additional cleaning charge of €50, respectively.
10. Baby and Child Car Seats - available for free and must be installed by a parent or
guardian.
11. Fines and Penalties - Customer is responsible for any parking or traffic violation
fees/penalties incurred during the rental period.
11. Loss of Key – In case of lost car key, driver agrees to pay a replacement key fee of €150.
